First Eurostar railtour at Brussels. Having run from Paris, there was no need to use the international platforms at Brussels and hence we arrived at one of those normally used by TGV and Thalys sets. 3006 is seen here.
Twice in March '98 I used the 1027 departure from London to get to Brussels, the first on business, the second for pleasure. Here, on the second occasion, we see 3015 at the rear of the train.
An early start for me - the 0723 to Paris. 3021 leads the formation.
The late afternoon sun catches a nearby office block as departure time nears for a London bound working.
A good place to see and photograph Eurostars in Vauxhall station just outside Waterloo. An SNCB-owned unit is seen approaching journey's end.
On the left is 3018 forming the 1027 to Brussels whilst on the right 3202 is a recent arrival.
Left to right, 3014, 3021 and 3206 pose in the morning sun in London. The 30xx units are British owned, those starting 31xx are Belgian owned and the 32xx units are French owned.
Using a zoom lens it is just possible to capture arrivals into Paris. With the sun directly behind, 3215 is seen approaching the international platforms.
An evening scene at Paris gare du Nord. 3225 and 3218 sit alongside Thalys unit 4343 and a TGV is also seen in the background.
Two Eurostar units pose next to each other at Paris Gare du Nord, having arrived on services from London.
When a Eurostar power car is stopped for repairs the train need not be stopped as a spare power car exists - 3999. This was the first time I had seen this vehicle - unfortunately it was on the service to London an hour before the one I was booked on so I missed the chance to get it for haulage. Alongside can be seen one of the new design Thalys units being used on the Paris to Amsterdam route.
