Dream Catchers

Dream Catchers is an Ojibawa tradition, the original dream catchers are passed on from Grandmother to their Grandchildren. As native people, we believe that there are negative and positive dreams floating all around us as we sleep. Usually the catcher has an earth stone in the center. The stone is part of Mother Earth, so it has the power of Mother Earth. All the dreams are drawn into the dream catcher by the Earth Stone. The positive dreams will be guided through the webbing to the center and down the feathers to the sleeper. The negitive dreams become confused and caught in the webbing to perish at the break of day never to bother the dreamer again. The four beads in the dream catcher earrings represent all that comes in four. The four seasons, the four winds, the four directions. ....Happy Dreams
