Okay, this isn't a new story, only a retelling of an OAV, but I think you'll find it's definitely one of the most coherent one-syllable fanfics. (ego^2) Enjoy, Shunsuke ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ah! Megami-sama!, The one syllable version by Shunsuke -||| ---------------------------------------------------------------------- "I might as well get some take out," thought Kei as his gut growled. He picked up the phone and dialed, but got hit the wrong keys; a girl's voice, soft and sweet, came from the other end. It said she would come to him, from a place called the "help line" or some type of thing. Vexed, he put down the phone fast, not sure of what he heard. In the room, a frost-glass pane warped, and a girl came through dressed in robes of while and blue, a like he had never seen. This was too much for his mind, and he ran scared across the room and tripped over a chair. She flew to him which scared him to death, but she smiled and said she was there to grant him a wish. "Yeah, right," he thought, "This has to be a joke." "No," she said, "This is for real, you can wish for what you most want in life." "Y-you can read my mind?" he gasped, but got hold of himself. "A wish, hmm...can I ask for this...." Dreams of fame, of gold of race cars all crossed his mind, but he slumped. "What if I were tall...?" "Why, is that what you want?" Bell asked. "Look at me, I'm short," he cried. "I can make that your wish, if you like. The Lord would grant it, though it is not the best choice you could make." Kei smiled, he knew what he would wish for. "I know! I want a girl just like you!" he began to shout as he looked at the girl in front of him. "The Lord grants your wish," she said as light shot from her head to the sky and wind blew books, sheets, and all these things flew all round the room. He cried out, but the wind soon died and left. "You have your wish, I shall stay here with you," she smiled to him. "W-w-with me? Here!?! You can't, this is a boy's dorm, no girls can be in here or-" *CRASH* The door opened. Kei gulped hard, fear in his eyes. "This is...not what it looks like." The dorm prez did not care, he showed no grace as he and the rest of the dorm's boys packed Kei's things in a box and threw Kei and Bell out in the street. Kei looked in fear at the dorm prez who clapped his hands to rid them of dust, and them slammed the door as he went in. Kei was in a tight spot, and knew he had to find them a place to stay for the night. They picked up what they had and went to find Kei's bike, where they stopped and talked for some time to think. "Are you well, Kei?" she asked. "I know where we can go." "You do?" "Yes, if you drive us there, I can show you." She cast a spell to change her clothes to more modest dress, and climbed on the bike. Kei kicked the bike into gear with Bell at his side, and they went off in search of a new home. It rained, and while they rode on, a car came too close, a near miss which did not take place due to one more spell cast by Bell. She passed out from this, but Kei knew where she planned to stay. In no time, they reached the old place where some Zen monks had once lived. He took her limp form in from the rain and tried to warm her, draped in a sheet, but he fell to sleep by her side. She woke to see him there, his face flush red and hot, close to death. She spent more of her force she and healed him, to save his life for what he had done for her. Once he was safe, she went out to the grounds of the land to look, and cast a spell to change it back to its old form, with a strong roof, doors that now slid, and birds that sang in trees that grew. Now that he woke, Kei walked out to see Bell sit on a rock, a bird on her hand. It flew off as he walked to her, and they spoke on what they must do if they were to live here. "But we must find out who to ask," said Kei. "We have leave, the Lord did grant it to us." So the next day they spent what few yen they had on things they would need. They had made it a home, and it was now that Kei did find he was here with a girl, one so fair and pure, that he had to won- The door slid wide, to hear a voice, one of Kei's blood line, one year less than he. His heart sank to know he could not get time with Bell, that he was stopped from their first kiss. The three sat and had dinner, and once they talked, his sis gave them some yen that would help Kei and Bell with their costs. "Now's my chance," thought Kei an he had some time to be with Bell, but it was not to be. *CRASH* In came the dorm prez and all those who threw him out that very day. Kei hung his head and could have cried, but he dealt with what took place that night, noise and dance. "For Bell," he thought. Late that night, once much drink had been had by all, Kei and Bell sat on the steps and looked at the moon. Though he had seen some bad things that day, the thought of this girl next to him gave him great joy. He could not find the pluck to kiss her, but to hold her with one arm, it was all he needed. He smiled with joy, and she leaned in to his form, and fain they both felt. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- E N D ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, that wasn't so tough...yeah, right, using the damned thesaurus every second line. 6_9 For the next word-based challenge, how about snowball sentences: "I do not want Ranma Akane's husband!" Shampoo's explosive continuous desperation reverberated. Nah, I don't think so....
