The Adapted HTML Mangler:
Adapted from Kade's Ultimate Message Board Tweaker (v2.1)

The new FortuneCity message boards are now accepting straight HTML. That's OK if you want to display links or images in your messages. However, suppose you want to show people HTML CODE. Sure, you could tell them to look in the comments box, but wouldn't it be neat if the code showed up in the message itself? In comes my Adapted Mangler!

Enter the HTML code in the upper textbox - then click convert! Copy and paste the result from the lower textbox into the comments box of the message you are posting.

The Mangler is written in JavaScript and has been tested in Netscape and MS Internet Explorer. Note this will totally screw up JavaScript - don't try it!

Paste HTML here and...
...converted HTML will appear here!

If you want to conduct any experiments, please note that it is considered good netiquette to post test messages at the bottom of the board. Just reply to the oldest message with 'test' as subject.

So what exactly does this Mangler do?
The Adapted Mangler converts the characters < > and " into their numeric escape codes. Escape codes tell your browser to display these special characters on the page, instead of executing them as inline HTML.
