Clover: R 3-6-6-3, R 3+6-6-3, R 3+6-6-3
Split Ring 3+5-1/3+5-1
Split Ring 1+8/1+8

Continue into outer chain round without reversing work.
Chain 8+5+6+5+(in same picot as previous join)
6+6+5+(in same picot as previous join)
6+6+5+(in same picot as previous join)
6+5+8+(join to base of cross where outer round began)
Finish off as desired.

Finished cross measures 1/2 inch in size 100 thread and 1 1/4 inch in size 20.
I have used the smaller size for earring jackets. In the accompanying picture, I have made a bookmark with size 20 by giving it a tail as I practiced the set stitch.
