Titian

"The Entombment of Christ" (1559, oil on canvas) is an excellent example of chiaroscuro. Notice the figure of Christ on the left side of the painting. Even though there are other highlighted sections (the figure at the upper right), it is evident that the focal point is the body of Christ. The highlights and shadows play against one another through intense glowing colors.
