PEACE

Can we really find this peace?
Is it there deep within our hearts?
Or is it merely a fantasy...
As a people, what keeps us apart?


Too many tears, too many children alone to carry on,
Living without a parents love,
Too many small ones carry a gun,
So many on the run.


Too much hatred,
Filled with bigotry.
Miles of angry people,
As far as one can see.


Seething with rage,
Animals in a cage.
Shouting, "Look at me, Look at me!"
"I have a gun, you see?"


Dirty politicians.
All over the world.
Sacrificing our lives.
It's for the money they strive.


With all this chaos and war,
Will peace ever be.
Politicians keep us apart.
It is to their benefit you see.


I want to walk with the land.
Holding hands, just you and me.
I no longer want to be at sea.
I want understanding and equality.


So today, it is at peace I want to be.
And this is what I have to say,
As this will benefit both you and me,
And hopefully, become reality one day.


Take my hand my friend.
Fly with me to another world.
I will spin a tale, the meaning of peace,
Something few have heard.


Close your eyes...imagine no sound...there is no war,
No bombs, no pain,
Perhaps one day truth,
Instead of folklore.


Now open your eyes my friend,
To reality.
We can make the dream come true,
If we only try.
