MILLENNIUM MADNESS

What's that you say?
Celebrate the new millennium today?
I think not.
For what?
This is the end,
Of the old millennium.
So, on the first,
When I raise my head,
With dry mouth, thirst,
And get out of bed,
It is to this I will toast.
A thousand years going by.
Some filled me with joy,
Some made me cry.
Some filled me with fear
And, some made me wonder WHY?
And, next year,
When the new millennium is here,
And history is once again embraced
With my toast and cheer,
I will pray that peace is ever nearer.
