Misty's newest pokemon is Poliwag. She had saved it from Team Rocket, and it decided to be hers since then. Poliwag is a very simple water pokemon, no different from any others.
Misty last left Horsea at her gym with her sisters because it needed the large pool to move around in. Horsea can't move around on land, which is where most battles would take place, so Misty had no place to let out her Horsea and she never had much time to train it either.
Staryu is currently Misty's best pokemon. Unfortunately, every time she tries to send out Staryu Psyduck interupts. Staryu can move around a lot on land which is why it's so strong.
Misty left Starmie at the gym along with Horsea. She probably shouldn't have, since it was her strongest pokemon of the bunch. Goldeen may have been a better choise seeing how useless it is now. Misty used to always choose starmie to battle, and if it wasn't a battle then Staryu would always be next to it.
It is unknown to weather Dewgong belongs to Misty, Misty and her sisters, or just her sisters. Dewgong evolved from Seel, who was thought to be quite weak until it evolved to save Misty from Team Rocket. I must say, though, it's voice is TERRIBLE.
Psyduck, is indeed, a powerfull, yet stupid pokemon. It always has a headache (which seems to be contagious) and whenever it gets bad enough, it will use its psychic attacks. Psyducks are actually supposed to be smart, intelligent, and usefull creatures, yet Misty's psyduck has some sort of problem. Psyduck usually ruins Misty's battles and will come out instead of a different pokemon, making a fool of her. If psyduck had been just a tad smarter, she probably would have won Togepi anyway.
Goldeen is one of the pokemon Misty should have left at her gym because it can't fight on land and hasn't been trained much. Yet she kept it anyway, and has used it to find ways out and she might use it in a couple of battles. It's actually just as useless as Horsea so there's not much to say about goldeen except "Watch out for that horn!"
