These days, nobody can get enough of Leonardo DiCaprio, including me. So, this page is dedicated to Leo and not to just his looks but his acting skills as well.
At such a young age, Leo has been nominated for an Oscar, starred in several award winning movies, and been named to People magazines "25 Most Beautiful People List." Leo has been referred to as the best young actor around. Yet, this great actor didn't always have it so easy.
Leo's first role at age 5 was on televisions Romper Room but he was kicked off the set for being disruptive. It was hard for Leo to find an agent who believed in him, but finally an agent believed in him and took him on. Leo soon had bit parts on the sitcoms Roseanne, Parenthood, The Outsiders, and Growing Pains, but these shows were all cancelled. Leo starred in the box office flop Critters 3 which might have doomed Leo's career, if Robert De Niro hadn't have handpicked Leo to star in the movie This Boy's Life. That movie gave Leo's career a jump start and he soon landed a role in his next movie What's Eating Gilbert Grape?, which won him an Oscar nomination. Two other movies that he has starred in are The Basketball Diaries and Total Eclipse, but these movies did not do well at the box office. Leo was cast in William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, in which he received rave reviews. Right now, Leo is shining in the afterglow of Titanic, and his role as Jack should have won him a nomination for a Oscar, but I guess the people at the Academy don't recognize true talent. The recent release of Leo's newest movie The Man in the Iron Mask, has been criticized greatly, but in my opinion is the best acting I have seen. His acting can be commended very highy for he played the role of both Louis and his twin. The thing that I noticed most about Leo in this movie was his eyes. When he was in character as King Louis XIV his eyes were cold and unmoving, while in character as the twin, Leo's eyes were warm and kind. I believe, as well as many others do, that Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the best actors I have ever seen.
