Pitch--which is both an autobiography and a footballing Bible
rolled into one.
Pam Houston's wickedly funny collection of short stories, follows several women's desires
for the same man, err type of man, -- a cowboy who has shared more intimacies
with the stuffed mule deer on his wall than he ever will with a woman. Cowboy's
Are My Weakness, offers and empathetic veiw of women who neither
deserve nor desire our sympathy. For another great collection check out

Finally, we offer you one of the favorite
authors of staff.  instead of seeing the half-hearted
film adaptation, just read Joh Irving's A
Prayer for Owen Meany. Irving fans will find much that is familiar:
the New England prep-school-town setting, symbolicamputations of man and
beast, the Garp-like
unknown father of the narrator. Like Hotel
New Hapshire before it and the more recent A
Widow for One Year, Irving combines tragedy and comedy like
no other author today.
