MISTIERS: Chris Cornell TITLE: The Men in Black CHARACTERS: Host: Mike. Mads: Dr. F and Frank. I'd place this one in season six somewhere. SUMMARY: Written when the famed movie of the same name was still only a gleam in Hollywood's eye, and the notion of the mysterious "men in black" was a bizarre footnote to the whole alien abduction subculture. The post itself tries desperately to draw from numerous questionable sources in order to build its dubious case, and the more frantic it gets in trying to prove its case, the more pathetic the whole indictment seems. HOST SEGMENTS: Segment 1: Mike stars in a parody of the then-ubiquitous "I wanna know" Rogain commercial, but the bots have a surprise for him. Segment 2: As Mike recovers, Dr. F declares "It's a bald world, after all." Segment 3: The Bots in Black. Segment 4: Crow and Tom become ensared in the vicious "You owe me a coke" game. Segment 5: M&TB express some doubts about the author's sanity, meanwhile Dr. F's Bald World is out of control. REFLECTIONS: Although the date in the archive is August '96, I actually wrote it and posted it some time in early '95, I think. The post came from alt.space-aliens, or some such group. I must admit the entirely irrelevant "You owe me a Coke" host segment is essentially stolen from an a bit I did as part of comedy group I used to belong to way back in the 1970s. Does anybody still play the "You owe me a Coke" game? -------
