MISTIERS: Joe Blevins TITLE: "Orgy of the Dead" by Edward D. Wood, Jr. CHARACTERS: Mike, Pearl, Bobo, Ortega SUMMARY: In an obvious example of the Peter Principle, Criswell has risen to the rank of Sole Ruler of the Dark World. His job consists of watching strippers dance in a phony graveyard. A rather slow-witted writer named Bob and his icy, distant girlfriend, Shirley, are forced to watch this strange ritual for what seems like several weeks. Will this "now" couple live to see another ice cream social, or will they be forced to pay the ultimate cover charge? SHORTS: None CATAGORIES: PRO HOST SEGMENTS: (Intro) The 'bots hold a small-town parade in Mike's honor. (Before the movie) Mike and Tom relive "The Captain Kangaroo Show." Meanwhile, Pearl and her underlings are whisked away by a space tornado while driving home from a supervillain convention. (During the movie) 1. Mike reads from one of Bob's horror novels. 2. Crow invites Criswell to the SOL to sample some of his famous Velvet Crumb Cake. Pearl and friends are having big, big trouble with some angry Munchkins after having accidentally killed Glinda the Good Witch. 3. Tom, Crow, and Gypsy do some "Orgy of the Dead" role playing. Mike is uninterested. (after the movie) Tom delivers a symposium about Nadejda Dobrev, a member of the movie's cast. Mike mysteriously becomes Glinda the Good Witch and saves Pearl's bacon. Stinger: Bob complements Shirley on her kissing. REFLECTIONS: Let it be known that I am a fan of both Criswell and Ed Wood. But since they're both dead, I figure they won't mind if I tease them a bit. I got into this MiSTing very innocently, and it eventually turned into a 148k monster. I think it's my best MiSTing yet, but it was a hell of a lot of work, and I revised it constantly. Enjoy! CHRONOLOGICAL NOTES: This takes place somewhere in Season 8, apparently soon after "Riding With Death." RECOMMENDED READING: None
