Ever wonder how much money you are saving a year by building your site with FortuneCity?
Yeah, me too. I see ads all the time for Web hosting space and domain name registration, started thinking about the costs and decided to do some investigating! And you won't believe what I discovered. By developing your sites at FortuneCity, you are saving approximately $562.25 a year!!!
You may ask, how did I get this number? I started with a Web site that rates Web hosting companies, www.tophosts.com. I checked out the top four Web hosters, ranked by their performance and price, and then averaged the prices for their 100MB plans. The average price was $41.25 a month or $495.00 a year! Now, lets not forget the set-up feethese so-called "top hosts" have an average one time set-up fee of $32.25.
So now you've spent $527.25 for your 100MB of space, but you still don't have a Web address. Well, get ready to open your wallet again, you'll need to spend more money to actually have a site. For example, Network Solutions (which is the most popular domain register in this "techie" opinion) charges $35.00 a year to buy your Web address. Some places charge even more. Why spend a grand total of $562.25 a year for what FortuneCity can give you for free? I can think of several thousand better ways to spend over 500 bucks, but that's just my opinion.

But I guess there are some things you get from these paid Web hosting companies you don't get at FortuneCity. You get e-mail oh wait, you DO get that at FortuneCity. Okay, you get a limited data transfer but hold on, that's bad FortuneCity does not limit our data transfer. Remind me again why you would pay money to have somebody limit the amount of traffic to your site? Your guess is as good as mine I sure think that a pop-up ad is worth $562.25 a year. So go out there, spend all that money you are saving on something terrific. Buy a new computer, buy a new car, but sleep well at night knowing that in just 10 years you will be $5332.25 richer than everybody else!!!
Just thought you'd wanna know
