In The Begining
|
While I'm not as wordy as my lover, I do have a history. Personally, I don't think it was very amazing, but then again, I lived it, so I'm biased. I was born in rural Maine (is there any other kind of Maine?), to two wonderfull parents, who I love very much. But we rarely saw eye to eye on anything, and I left home to join the Navy at 17.
I only in the Navy four years before I got my medical discharge. The bare bones is that we had a fire down where I (a budding electrical engineer) was working. Me and my buddy tried to put it out, and he caught himself on fire and I tried to put it out. His skin was badly burnt and I ended up inhaling a lot of the smoke burning part of my lungs.
Now I'm as fine as I can be now, and I know that my living past 60 is pretty much a dream.

Starting Over
|
Out of the navy, I'd been pulling for the GI Bill, and after some talk, managed to pull off getting enough money for university. See, I was just 17 when I'd gone in, fresh out of High School, with no aims or planes outside of getting my own life togeather. It was my Aunt Jane who suggested I go to school and put my mind to work. I'm the sort who does long division in her head like most people add 1 + 1. It goes way past that, now that I've worked at it, and KB gets scared when I juggle our taxes in my head. But I'm as accurate as you are, typing numbers into a calculator.
It was in university that I really fell in love the first time. She was a med student (now she's Dr. Judy Archer) and I was starting comp. sci. I've always been attracted to women, and if you ask why I joined the Navy, it's because I love the sea too. If being able to be in the Navy meant being celibate, then so be it. It's a price to pay to follow your heart.

Giving in to fate

Still, Judy and I fell apart, and I had various other sorid affairs. They won't be listed, because KB might get mad at me. Speaking of her, I was still in school, working on computer engineering when I met her, in 1992. To make a long story short, she and I hit it off really well, and dated, moved in togeather, and lived pretty happily.
Before she graduated (five years later, and don't I feel old now?), she got a job offer in Missouri, her home town, and she accepted it. I was reluctant to move to the Midwest, but after our friend talked to us (personally, I think she was sick of having to see KB everytime KB was depressed), we made up. I managed to find a job I could live with (actually, I like it more than my old one!) and I bought us a house. We moved, and that was the begining of the rest of our lives.
Over thanksgiving ('97) we went to her parents, who wanted to know when I'd "get serious" about KB. Hello? I live with her and pay for more of her student loans than they ever will. But I didn't say that, I just asked KB if this was a ploy to get married. It was, and we will. In June. How's that for scarey?

- The most beautifull woman in the world
This is Wyn's homepage, one day we'll put up photos of her bike. She's ... wow. She puts up with my insanities.
- Xena : Battle On!
If you like Xena: Warrior Princess, check out this comic strip site. Wyn clued me in on it (she watches lots of TV, I never really did till now. Every Thursday night, I'm there. It's SO sad.)
- US Navy
The US Navy still means a lot to me. This is their homepage. Wyn tolerates my slight obsession, but even she will admit I'm a dandy on a boat or in the water. I can't wait until the spring, so I can take her sailing on our friend's boat.

Yes, I wrote this page all by myself (okay okay, I used a 'box' form as a template, becuase I was lazy). Still I DID go back and edit all the code by hand. Long habit.
