Gobelin Tapestries &Ceramics Combination

Gabriela is famous for her perfect combination of gobelin tapestries, ceramics and anticorrosive materials.
For the ceramics production she uses two modes. In a standard mode ceramics is fired twice. For the first time the temperature is 1000C, the ceramics is without a glaze. For the second time the temperature depends to a glaze and colour and moves around 950-1150C..... In a reducing mode when the ceramics is fired for the second time, and the glaze reaches the point of melting, the ceramics is picked off from the kiln and put into dampy sawdust. Here the temperature is reduced and by the action of the sawdust, which is smoking, the part of the ceramics without the glaze is smoked and also the glazed part of the ceramics changes the colour of the glaze. The ceramics in our collection are fired in the standard and reducing mode also.

Gobelin Tapestries & Technique of Making the Gobelin Tapestries

The textile pictures in Gobelin tapestries are manufactured by Arttex technique. Artex is an artistic gobelin tapestry realized by the manner of bonded textile and registred as a trade-marke from 1995 in Czechoslovakia, Eastern Europe. The basic material is a pure wool - fleece with modification against carpet moths, which is processed in the wide scale of colours. The gobelin tapestries rise by placing the coloured fleece on the primer fabric according to own motion. The flakes of wool are cutted, mixed, twisted and joined into different shapes and compositions according to own skills and creative inventions and can be specified by other thin textile materials or wool yarns.
Such a gobelin tapestry picture is gradually ironed under a wet paper. Before the final fixation, the important details are stitched towards the primer fabric, to restrain the movements and to fix the picture. The final step is the fixation towards the primer fabric by the textile machine.
