I've always loved to write stories, though I have an easier time writing poetry.
Baby Brother is a story I wrote in 1992. We had Citizen's Army Training (CAT) once a week for the whole of my senior year (and to this day, I don't know why they made us do it). I did fool a lot of classmates into thinking my brother Brian is a big baby. He's really sweet and this one is dedicated to him (though I don't think he knows it...). It was first published in Blue Flame, my high school alma mater's official publication.
An Open Letter to Parents was a reflection of how difficult it is to be an only child. I was never an only child, but I hung out with a lot of them. When it was anonymously published in Blue Flame in the 1992 Christmas issue, a lot of people thought our Editor-in-Chief Joy Baustista wrote it (she's really an only child). I figured it was time I posted this under my name and take whatever comes because of it.
Patterns From a Moving Quilt is a work in progress that I've gotten myself stumped on. I started working on it in March 1997. It looks finished now... but you never know with paper children.
