We will meet at the Whitemarsh park & ride at 12:30 PM. This activity,
an easy walk, features the
Longwood Gardens Holiday display, which the London Financial Times
described as the best Christmas
display in the world. We will tour the 20 outdoor gardens,
and the 4 acre conservatory and greenhouses.
After dinner in their pleasant cafeteria, we'll see the holiday light
display and fountains.

First Thursday at the BMA

We will meet at the the BMA lobby at 6:30 PM. The touring activity will
start in the Baltimore Museum of
Art at 7:00 PM, and will last approximately 2 hours. Admission is FREE
on Thursdays, and First Thursday
is the only time that BMA is open late. See Antioch: The Lost

The hiking activity will start in Lake Roland at 11:00 AM, leashed dogs
are allowed. This is a 2.5 mile
round-trip hike along Lake Roland. Located just north of Baltimore
City, this lake was created when Jones
Falls was dammed in 1862 as a reservoir for the city's water supply,
a function it no longer serves. We'll
meet at the bridge below the dam, walk from the southern end to the
marshy northern end of the lake, and
then return.

The hiking activity will start in Patapsco State Park at 10:00 AM. This
is a 7 mile hike along the Patapsco
River west of Woodlawn. We'll see the remains of Daniels, an old mill
town that was washed away by
Hurricane Agnes in the flood of 1972, plus a dam, and an old ruined
stone chapel.
