I've seen a lot of movies this summer, and of all the movies that I've seen, this is definetely the best. First of all it stars Adam Sandler, my favorite actor. This is his best movie since The Wedding Singer. But not only is Adam Sandler's acting great, but the kid he adopts is so cute. Sure, Julian throws up a lot and he pees in his bed, but Adam Sandler knows how to take care of things. Things get sticky when the Social Service organization find out that Sandler is not supposed to have Julian. A battle ensures over who should get custody of the kid, but I'm sure you all know how it turns out. Sandler has some interesting theories on child development. He lets Julian choose his own name, Frankenstein. He lets Frankenstein eat what he wants, wear what he wants, and be who he wants to be. Kids aren't always the most reliable sources of decision making, but Sandler steers Frankenstein into making the right choices and through the process he convinces a cute woman to go out with him. The relationship between this woman and Sandler grows, as does the relationship between Sandler and Julian. In the end I have to give Big Daddy 5 stars. It was just a really good, fun movie. I don't know if it's appropriate for really young children, as Sandler does teach Julian to use some cuss words, but most people are not going to have a problem with too much in the movie. Plus, there's a good kiss scene towards the beginning of the movie.
