Lesbian desktops are designed to celebrate women - in art, in film and in literature. They are meant as a joyful statement and affirmation of who we are.

NB: you will need to convert the image to .bmp format and place it in your Windows folder in order to use it as a desktop.

Compass
This desktop is based around a Steicher image, "In Exaltation of Flowers". The dark circle encompasses the women, with all directions open to them.

Sapphic Ode
I based this design on a Bougerou painting. The poem is Amy Lowell's "Dreams", the whole effect one of langour and ease. Click here to read the full poem.

Roses Poem
Renee Vivien's poem to the paleskinned brunette in her bedroom reflected in the Brunelleschi image; this is one of my favourite designs.

BodyArt
Expanding on a Tamara de Lempicka work, this design expresses the sheer physicality of our women's love. I intended this to be a bold affirmation.

Marlene
One of the most fascinating women of this century, here a powerful image of strength and desire. A simple, bold statement.

Tamara
Creator of so many strong and sensual images, Tamara de Lempicka herself provides a striking picture.

Anais
Mucha's gentle image is at odds with Anais Nin's passionate writing here; the contrast however works perfectly.

Wild Nights
I have loved this image for a long time, its innocence and supressed passion. Emily Dickinson's poem matches it perfectly.
