Sorensen is now a regular in the Denmark squad after winning more than 20 Under-21 caps and was part of his country's set-up in Euro 2000.
He cost Sunderland £500,000 from OB Odense and was voted young Player of the Year in his first season. He had a spell on loan to Danish second division side Svendborg FB in 1997.
Sorensen made his first start for Denmark in a friendly against Germany last year.

Macho, a former Austria Under-21 international, played for FC Vienna for three seasons. He began his career with Austrian third division side Sportklub before moving to Casino Vienna.
