Holy expansion teams Batman! They four new teams picked up two wins this week, and while the Sharks lost they still were outscored by only four of the league's teams. In contrast last year's four playoff teams combined for just one victory. One of these teams even had the week's lowest score of only 53 points. The four expansion teams combined for 430 points, last year's four playoff teams totaled only 407 points. For comparing sake the league's other four teams scored 512 points! Could the league's early success teams be dethroned after just a single year at the top? Will this week simply be a fluke in the grand scheme of the 1998 ZFL season? Will I have time every week to write stupid things in the newsletter? Only the next 16 weeks will tell.
Missing Player of the Week
Randy Moss of the Hippies
would have scored 26
points off of 2 TD's, and 4
catches
for 95 yards. Ooops!
ZFL GM's started 3 players this
week who didn't record a single point:
Charlie
Garner: RB for the Eagles
Irving
Fryar: WR for the Eagles
Derrick
Alexander: WR for the Chiefs
Two other players that would
have been better off staying at home. Each only scored one point,
and were started in the ZFL:
Mike
Alstott: RB for the Buccaneers (held to 12 yards)
Jake
Reed: WR for the Vikings (a little overshadowed by rookie Randy Moss)
