Hello Bye Week

The ZFL decided to overlook the first NFL bye week this week.  The 12 ZFL teams started a combined 12 players from open-week teams.  Let me clue you guys in a little, you get ZERO points for a player that doesn't play in that week.  It really hurt some teams, the Nighthawks had four players in their lineup whose teams didn't play in the NFL this week.  Here is the breakdown, by team, of who started bye week players, and how they did.

Started 1 bye-week player and beat the Nighthawks
Started 4 bye-week players and lost to the Dragons
Started 2 bye-week players and lost to the Wookies
Started 1 bye-week player and beat the Sharks
Started 3 bye-week players and lost to the Pissants
Started 1 bye-week player and beat the Gridstars

Week 4 Bye Teams

Buffalo Bills
New England Patriots
Miami Dolphins
New York Jets

Missing Player of the Week

Michael Westbrook had 7 cathes for 132 yards and 2 TD's.  This would have given the Sharks an additional 32 points, which still would not have been enough to win on its own.

Negative Point Club Triples

While some teams started players tht didn't play in Week 3, others would have been better off doing so.  The ZFL Negative Point Club for over a year consisted of just one player. Steve Young got a little company this week, with disastrous performances by Kordell Stewart and Ryan Leaf.  Neither threw a TD, Leaf threw for 4 yards and 2 interceptions.  While Stewart threw for 99 yards, his three interceptions gave him a negative total.  Following his rough day Leaf decided he would work on his public relations by sitting and having a nice chat with the media.  If you didn't see that incident, we'll just say Junior Seau had to come and keep Leaf frm beating the hell out of the guy.  I guess all that's left to say is good luck next week guys.
