Dear Participants

Be prepared!

Apologies for not building up the excitement of the climax to the season but, yet again, I was unaware it was nearly upon us. This year it’s not just the Non League Premier that ends in April – it’s the Championship also. Close behind, on May 5, is the conclusion of Leagues 1 and 2 followed by the Premier League a week later. It’s all happening and I am totally unprepared!

Premier:  This Division is close enough for an 8-point gain to move someone up 3 places. That’s happened to David, who’s back in the lead. John Ó’s lead was short-lived but he’s only 3 bonus points behind. Six weeks remain and anything can happen.

Championship:   There are 20 points between 1st and 4th. Each of the 4 has led the Division at some point during the season. More recently John Ó has been the leader and he has regained the lead this month from last month’s leader, David. Dave is now only 11 points behind in 3rd. A further 9 points away is November leader, Rui. Watford have discovered some good form recently. Dave will be hoping that that will continue. Burnley and Ipswich need to drop some places for Rui to have a chance. Otherwise John Ó and David will fight out the top 2 places.

League 1:  John Ó has stopped sharing the lead with David but there are only 3 points between them. It could all rest simply on whether Sheffield Wednesday finish 2nd or 3rd.

League 2:    The gap is down to 12 points – and can be bridged. It’s between Dave and John M. If Accrington and Aldershot rise and Wimbledon fall John M will probably overtake Dave.

Non League:   John Ó has been leading since December. Rui will be hoping that Ebbsfleet, Kidderminster and Tamworth have a good final month for him to stand any chance of winning.

Performance of the month:   John Ó

So it’s nearly the end of another season. I hope that, unlike me, you are prepared for the final full month - which will produce 2 winners - and a couple more weeks to complete the season.
