Glenn played in several "garage bands" but his first proper or real band became Misfits, who received an immidiate cult status, basing their performance and music on horror movie themes (just look at the titles on many of the songs, a lot of them are named after horror filmes). The creation of the Misfits band logo has gotten many suggestion to its origin, one being that it was taken from a horror magazine called Famous Monsters of Filmland.

The 7 inch single Cough/Cool is the first release by Misfits.

Glenn stayed with Misfits from 1977-1983, Misfits still plays as "The Misfits" but only under permission from Danzig (he has all the rights to the band etc etc). Many speculations has been surrounding (especially in late 2000 to the begining of 2001) that he would re-join with the Misfits. However he has said on all occassion that those rumours are all bullshit, and the only thing he enjoy about the band is the benefits (money) of the work the other members are doing today, however he also has said that he do not approve of them but the extra cash do not hurt.

He then went on to form Samhain (the original pagen Halloween). Samhain released 3 albums and just recently (2000)
he released a Samhain box set including 5 cds, picture book and a video. And in 2001 he re-released the 3 albums seperatly with another called Unholy Passion.

After the spell with Samhain he went on to form Danzig in 1988, and so far has released 6 albums with a double live album on its way and a 7th studio album is also in the making (April 2001).

The first live show Glenn did with Danzig was held at Trenton, NJ at City Gardens (9th of April 1988), the line-up was Chuck Biscuits, Eerie, John Christ and Glenn Danzig. This line-up was strong for 4 Danzig albums (last being 4p). Since then members has come and gone, since Glenn's tolerance span seem to be short.

Glenn's second passion is comics and in 1994 he started he own comic comapny called Verotik, which comes from "violence" and "erotic" which is the basic theme of the comics coming from his company, Satanika, Igrat, Deathdealer are some of the series he gives out, along with artist such as Simon Bisley.

He also decided to try acting, and themed up with legendary actor Christopher Walken in Prophecy 2 (Walken put a face to Gabriel in first Prophecy), however you might have the same problem as I did in actually catching Glenn's performance in the movie. I had to rewind and realy study the possibilities for Glenn's participation. took me a while but he is in the movie for about 10 seconds and you can hardly recognise the man, but his in it!!
