BRAZIL 2000 - WORLD CLUB CUP

Real Madrid have qualified to this tournament as the last years winner of the Toyota Cup or The Intercontinental cup. They will join 7 other teams, that will be split up into 2 groups, with as far as I can gather, one group playing in Rio and the other in Sao Paulo (and to my bad luck Real Madrid will play their group games in Sao Paolo).

The teams entering the competition are as follows:
Al-Nassar (Saudi Arabia) - Winner of the 1998 Asian Super Cup
Rayos del Necaxa (Mexico) - Winner of the 1999 CONCACAF Cup
Vasco Da Gama (Brazil) - Winner of the 1998 Copa Libertadores
South Melbourne (Australia) - Winner of the 1999 OFC Championship
Manchester United (England) - Winner of the 1999 Champions League
Real Madrid (Spain) - Winner of the 1998 Toyota Cup
Corinthians (Brazil) - extra host team and winner of the Brazilian Championship
Raja of Morocco, or Esperance of Tunisia will join as representatives from Africa

Real Madrid has been drawn in Group A with Al-Nassar, Corinthians, and Raja from Africa.

the group games will start on the 5th of January, with the last game in the group on the 10th (11th for group B). The winners of each group will meet in the final will the runners-up will play for the bronze. The bronze final is played on the 14th, before the final (the final is also played on the 14th)

The teams will arrive no later than the 2th of January to get organised FIFA has decided, and each team has to submit a team squad of max 23 players, 10 days before the tournament begins, however, to be eligible to be picked for the team, a player bought after 15th of November cannot be picked for the tournament.

Real Madrid have been allocated, Pacaembu as their trainig site in Sao Paulo, the stadium fills 45000 spectators, and was built in 1945, and is owned by the city of Sao Paulo.

The winner of the tournament gets $6 million, 2nd place $5 million, 3rd place $4 million, 4th place $3 million, 5-8th place $2.5 million each
