A couple of my journals not yet complete

Journal of Aura | I call this age Aura. The air is so fresh here and the sky is a bright blue just as I had written it. There is a magnificent castle on a little island in the middle of the lake and there's a small forest on the shore of the main island. Today I decided to venture farther from shore. I discovered there was much more to this island then what I had already seen. Something more marvellous than anything you could imagine. Today I found a cliff with a crystal clear waterfall that flows down to a clear blue lake that is just the right temperature for swimming. So I decided to take a little swim. Of course I didn't have the proper clothing, but I decided to go in anyway, despite the great burden my clothing were. It was quite enjoyable. I climbed up on the ledge under the waterfall; I noticed a small entrance behind the fall. It revealed a small cavern with enormous long quartz hanging from the ceiling of the cavern. I have to guess that the type of soil and rocks that I chose caused this magnificent and beautiful sight. I decided to break one off to bring back to my camp. Later that night, I was examining the specimen I had taken from the cave earlier that day and I found that the quartz were 100% authentic but it seemed that this certain type of quartz was rarer and different in some way. I shall have to speak with the guildmaster of the Guild of Miners. This morning the bright rays of the sun beaming upon my face awakened me. It felt so warm. It was a little humid. I decided to go wash in the waterfall. The water was a little cold but I became used to it after I went in. Today I plan to build myself a house of sorts and I'll have to go back to D'ni to write in some beautiful types of stone for the house, and perhaps I will write in a coconut tree and a peach tree. For some reason I have been craving coconuts and peaches. Well, I have decided to leave my island in two days. Today I'm leaving my age to return to D'Ni and collect some tools and write in the needed materials that I require for my project. I have returned once more to my world. I have decided to wait a day before I begin my immense task of building my dwelling on my own. I must cut the rock and lift it on my own. It will take a little time but the D'Ni are a patient race. I have requested a student to accompany me in my travels and my close friend also. It has been lonely in my age, although there are animals around I still feel I need to have someone to be with me in my discoveries. I shall have J'daris and Turan link to my age in a week's time. Till then I shall be working on my plans for New D'Ni. I am D'Ni but see, D'Ni fell a long time ago. Although it is always in our hearts we must find a place where we can unite once more. I have found an island off the coast of the ocean that is uninhabited. Here, in my age is where I am conducting the experiments to make sure that nothing goes wrong after New D'Ni is founded. I hope this will work. The only difference to this is that the " New D'Ni" of today are now used to the light of the sun and have adapted and now no longer need their glasses as often as they used to, but in some situations they are needed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aura: The Book of Kestra My studies have been very time consuming. I have begun to undestand just how the Dni write and the many of the other guilds that are part of the Dni, but I wish to focus on the Guild of Writers. My studies have led me to a couple books that I found in my Great Library while scanning along its vast shelves. They have provided me with a lot of information as to the lifestyle, works and people of the Dni. It is very facinating. I wish to explore further into the subject later on also. Perhaps even some of the other guilds... For now I shall continue my studies on the Art and its many aspects. I wish to conduct some experiments on the rock which surounds this town also. Perhaps in time I will find something that I have not seen yet... I have already found amethyst and jade. I have been made a Grand Master of my guild so I must take this responsibility seriously and try to provide the best resources for my young guildsmen. I must leave my journal now and research further and ponder these great discoveries. My guild has been going smoothly and I have made the first assignment for the description of their age. In journal form or otherwise. It must be no more than pages. I have received two so far and they have been quite good. The thing is our writers just must put this skill to the test by writing a full age without errors and no leave no leaf unturned in a way, so that there is no imperfections in the age. We do not wihs for any ages to be unstable. I shall be logging these new ages once they are completed into the Great Library and they shall be available to all members and visitors of the library. J'daris shall make a good guildsman. I can tell by the way he writes he shall be a good guildsman and his wisdom will lead him to a new more comfortable position in this guild. I can see that in the very near future. As for the rest I shall wait and see what they come up with in their descriptions for their age... I believe that I will log this journal in the Great Library also... I will be working on my age soon. I have begun but I have been busy as a result of the forming of the guild. Perhaps I shall have a section for assignments and lessons... I write this journal because I figure out all my ideas here and write them down so I do not forget. This is a very useful tool in the writing process... Now I know why Atrus enjoyed it so much... I have a new partner to help me with the guild. His name is Aitrus. I am still partners with Turan, but Aitrus is also an assistant in a way too. He helps me with the assignments, reading them and other such things. If there is something I need he tries to help out, which is extremely useful when you have a guild such as this. Especially when there is hardly any other writer guilds in the world. I have yet to find many of them. I have found one two maybe that is it. So I have a big demand from people who wish to be in the guild. I have to make sure they know something about Dni or the Art. If not they are put in a apprenticeship program for the guild because I do not want to turn down anyone who wants to be in the guild. I have begun to think about the possibilities for this guild and I have considered the option of taking the writing a little step further, once our members have established their ideas for their age and what it looks like then they can do some small sketches that will accompany the age. If they however, do not have a scanner then they can draw them in a paint program or something like that. I will ponder this option further as I learn more and get the remainder of the assignments in about a week. Perhaps we will begin collecting translations of the Dni language and maybe we can form a dictionary on the site if we have enough translations to do so... I have many prospects for this guild, and its members and I shall write them all in this journal as a record of my many ideas so that I do not lose track of really good ideas that I may want to go through with later on... I think that this guild is my outlet into really expressing myself and when I think about it, I might become a writer in my spare time along with of course probably something related to computers. I have been thinking about the fire marbles in the Book of Atrus and of Tiana. They resemble glowing amber, I was looking in a book on gemstones and minerals and the description of the fire marbles ends up being basically what the glowing amber is. Some think that those books are just stories but when you think about it a lot of it is true, especially if you read a lot and write. The fire marbles are similar to glowing amber. It is not easy to penetrate and it glows on its own. All of this is very facinating. IF anyone reads this when I post it and has a couple things from the story that they found similar to real things they have seen and can prove it to me then let me know, I would love to hear it. It just facinates me. Maybe the fire marbles were suppose to be glowing amber... Perhaps the writer will clear that up for us in the future and many other theories we might have... I think I shall carry a notebook along with me so that I can record my ideas and look back on them and maybe think further on how I can acheive that. I think that my teacher has really helped me with my writing too. She pushes me to strive for better things and better description in my work. I think that is what inspired me to start this guild in the first place and the Myst game and books of course. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- New DNi Hundreds of books crowd the vast shelves of the Great library. This library once belonged to my deceased grandfather, Drian. He was once a great writer who was always careful with every world he created, he made sure that the people there were never deprived. He treated his gift as if it were gold. He promised that he would never abuse the Art like many of his kind had done in the past. He took that promise to his grave and never broke it. In his will, he left me this, his Great library and all of his other possesions pertaining to the Art and writing. He never wanted anyone who was inexperienced with the Art to get a hold of the priceless imformation that was contained in this library. The origins and the method of the Art have not been revealed to anyone else who did not belong to any of the Guilds and who was not a descendent from the Dni. This day forward, I shall take what is mine and take the place I was destined to occupy. The sun creeps in through the windows of the Great library, as I, Kestra explore the many walls and mazes of this dusty tower of imformation. I walk over to the shelves and pull out a couple books, a journal, written by my grandfather, a few blank books and a book entitled: Dni history, writings and language. I decide to bring them along with me as I walk along the walls, up the spiral staircase to my new office, which used to belong to my grandfather. I set the books on my desk and peered out the window, it was an extremely sunny day and the rays of sunshine shone on the lake like a diamond. The sky was blue and the city was busy about their business. The stone houses below apppeared so small, up above the city and it made me curious as to what lied beyond this tower, but for now I have to keep my mind on the things on hand, I thought. I looked around the room and on the wall was a map of the island and on the desk was a quill pen in gold ink. It was labeled, Guild of Ink makers. There was also a bottle of blue, violet, black, and red ink inside the desk. Then there was a bottle of black ink labeled, all purpose ink. These other bottles of Ink must have been the ones my grandfather was talking about! The speacial ink he said that was used to write his precious worlds in his blank books! These blank books that I brought are for writing ages! Just what I was looking for! At last, I can now begin to practice my writing and after reading the journal, that will help me beyond belief. The amount of information that I have accumulated from the Great Library has been more than useful in my studies of this magnificant culture and the secrets behind it. I have begun my own journal to record my discoveries as did my grandfather and I shall use the same methods of writing as he once did. I discovered this is really a world that my grandfather created. The immense detail that I see before me is so great that I never thought that the writing could bring out such lovely colors and textures of this island. It is really stunning that all has such a natural balance and seem to belong there. I really hope that I can write like that soon. It would be fabulous and then I would truly know the joy that my grandfather experienced by writing in these fantastic worlds full of great detailed that held the many new cultures not yet discovered and the most amazing creatures that your mind can imagine. This is definitely an art for a thinker and a imaginative person because you would not want to leave a world unstable which was the most important thing that my grandfather looked out for so that his creations were not destroyed. I think it is time for me to take on the tradition of our family and continue to unlock the secrets of this marvelous art. I am Grand Master Kestra and I am a very optimistic person who will one day make the Art of writing ages known throughout the world. I will try to help all those I can with the undestanding of the writing and Dni. I wish to help all those who I can to understand the writing and the truth behind it. I have formed a guild of writers in which I have an apprenticeship program for those inexperienced in the Art to learn more from the best of the guild. Mostly the Grand Masters will be helping the apprentices. I will be using the resources left by my grandfather to rebuild the once great city of D'Ni but I shall make sure that more precaution is taken to prevent the same disaster that claimed the many people of D'Ni. In the morning I shall plan out the map of New D'Ni and it's surrounding islands. It is now morning and I have begun to plan out the many maps of New D'Ni. I will have my guildsmen begin to build it's many castles and buildings as soon as I am sure that every detail is delt with. At this moment I have "hired" some other men and women to aid me in my endeavors. They are now part of the guild. They were separate but we have made an agreement to join together to make sure D'Ni is joined together with all of it's people. I have contacted many of the remaining survivors of D'Ni and their children to come and dwell in New D'Ni when it is finished. I hope that my plans follow through. It would be a shame to have all this hard work go to waste. I have been researching in my grandfather's library and have discovered the strictness of the D'Ni in their dealings with surface dwellers and other outsiders. I feel they were too strict with their dealings and I hope to open up the New D'Ni community to others as well as the D'Ni. These persons will be evaluated very closely though to prevent conflicts in the future. So far I have contacted approximately 30-40 D'Ni to aid me in my building and planning. I know there is many more out there so I will make sure I contact more of them for their support. Many are attempting to do the same thing and I figure that it would be better if all the guilds and people work together on this project. I have made the project known as much as my time has allowed. I have gotten another task out of the way so I hope the project will progress faster than before. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Secrets of New D'Ni Introduction I, Grand Master Kest'ra have written this tale to tell you of the creation of a place like no other, where the inhabitants are not afraid to leave their doors unlocked or to walk alone along the streets. This place is one of great wonder and peace, where if there is a crime, the criminal is dealt with severely and with justice and order. The buildings are made of stone and there is no need for plastic or any other hazardous materials that may harm any of the animals or the citizens. There are guilds of many trades such as, writers, bookmakers, ink makers, maintainers, engineers, miners, and many others. There is a High Council where matters are discussed with the guild masters of all of the guilds and the citizens of New D'ni. The High Council consists of 8-9 people these people may have advisors or assistants present during the sessions if they so wish. This is only a glance at the world of New D'ni. Book One I awoke to the smell of bacon and eggs. J'daris had came to check up on me. He was always a good neighbor and guildsmen. I rubbed my eyes and looked at the timepiece that lay on the table beside my bed, it was Leefo 27 in D'Ni time. I rose to my feet and walked over to the window. The men and women outside were busy walking to and fro as they did everyday running errands and buying supplies. This was the town on the island of Aura called Town of Guhildsmehn translating "Town of Guildsmen". I headed for the kitchen to see what J'Daris had prepared me. Sitting by the table was J'daris and an empty seat was left for me with a large plate of bacon, eggs, pancakes and toast set in my place. "J'daris, you didn't have to prepare such a big breakfast just for me." I said. "Nonsense, Kest'ra you need a good breakfast to prepare you for your High Council meeting." he replied. "What? I was hoping to map out some of the island today with Alter'an. You may come if you wish also." I exclaimed as I buttered my toast. "Apparently it is of the utmost importance. I was told to wake you and to make sure you got to the Council Hall as soon as possible. I heard that it is regarding the plans for the Island of New D'Ni. "Well, I guess my excursions will have to wait till this afternoon." I said with a sigh. "Now eat up Nava, You have much to do this morning." J'daris said enthusiastically. I arrived at the Council Hall in time to see Alter'an walk in the door. There were many people waiting in the courtyard, for what reason I did not know but I was about to find out...
