Ed Martin's F39 Walkabout
Details on the H-43 Walkabout:
This was the only car on the "dirty dirt" train I photographed and there were some odd ones. The railroad had pulled up the fuel racks here and were forced to remove the contaminated soil in and around the area that had been used to fuel the engines in and out of Las Vegas. The dirt was first cooked in a furnace, here in the old yard, to burn off the fuel then hauled away in these old hopper cars to a solid waste dump.
