REMEMBRANCE

I remember growing up;
Good times as well as bad
Through all the discipline I was given,
There was tenderness to be had.

It showed in how you protected me,
In ways that now I know.
It show's in how you taught me,
Patience and how to understand
It showed in how you gave to me,
All the tender love there was.

A little girl with skinned up knees,
Tears in her eyes, Your heart just bleeds
Words spoken softly, The gentleness of your touch

How time seems to slip,
just passing us right on by;
Before you knew it I was wed;
With children by my side

The years just flew on by; we never grew apart.
I so wish that you were here, to have given me some advise,
To share in my pain, when my world fell apart,
Or to be able to share, in the new love that I found.
Now your gone from me, to a place I know is best,
I never got to say good bye, or thanked you for what you did.

Just sitting and remembering, Things we use to do
I'm thankful for the time we've had,
but I'm still missing you.
