Broomball at the University of British Columbia
Broomball is the most convincing proof that I've found so far that indicates the insanity of Canadians. It is played by as many people as you can fit on the ice (we had about 40 or so) wearing tennis shoes and using "brooms" (they resemble hockey masks on sticks) to hit rather tiny balls into hockey nets. All I can say is that it was a miracle nobody died.
For the record, I lasted 49 minutes and 30 seconds without falling once. I lasted only about 30 seconds more before falling the second time. Ironically, both falls were in the same part of the ice, and I landed on the same knee in both cases. Ouch!
