We had a very interesting discussion about judgment and forgiveness. Heijun brought up a recent article about a gruesome murder in the Vancouver area. She couldn't understand how God could allow such a thing to take place. We tried to explain that it hurt and angered God just as much as it did her, but she still found such a belief difficult to accept. I could see her frustration, and I understood it because I have been in her shoes, as well. Still, I trust that God has a plan and will use even the worst events for the good of those who love Him.

Yohei impressed me a great deal with his knowledge of classical music. We talk about our favorites and made some suggestions for each other. His charm and caring personality made him a very popular and enjoyable person with whom to talk. He also surprised me with his interest in Christianity. God took what started out as a curiosity and made it into something much greater--faith. Praise the Lord!
