John, Paul, George, and Ringo ham it up on The Ed Sullivan Show February 9, 1964 The Beatles refused to go to America until they got a #1 hit. Why? Because every big British star that went over to the states before them bombed.

George Martin searched out an American record company that would be willing to take on The Beatles and their British hits. First it was Swan, then VeeJay, and finally Capitol Records. Still it seemed that the Beatles were going nowhere in the US market. On February 6th, though, they recieved a surprise.

'I Wanna Hold Your Hand' had shot up from #43 to #1 in the charts within a week! The Beatles were a hit!! Onto a Boeing they went, and arrived in America on February 7th to hundreds of screaming girls, nosey reporters, and the Plaza Hotel.

February 9th they would conquer America, bringing Ed Sullivan 73 million viewers by the Neilsen count. And to think Eddy saw them six months earlier in England, and didn't think they were worth booking....

An American based Cartoon? No, not for these fab four.... for the fab four imitators behind the funny faces!!

John, Paul, George, and Ringo didn't contribute anything to this short lived 1965 series except for their faces.... although a hit, it was soon taken off the air.
