Autumn days grow shorter, but to compensate they give us so much beauty to celebrate. The sky is a color never seen in any other season. The trees put on their most beautiful colors. The apples ripen to gold or red, and the pumpkin and squash and corn come in various shades of orange to gold. Autumn gives us a quiet time to recover from the rigors of the summer past, and prepare for the Winter to come.
Autumn has always been my favorite season. Maybe because I loved School, and that always started the day after Labor Day in September. Maybe because of all the wonderful Memories I have of this time of year, and maybe just because of all the fun we had and the beauty I grew up with in those Pennsylvania Mountains.
I still love Autumn and I still hold to some of my family traditions.

Autumn has it's own flavor also. It the Fall we eat things that don't taste nearly as good at other times of the year.

Autumn is never complete without at least one "Ghost" Story told around a bonfire after the hayride. So I am providing you with 2.
