I'd just like y'all to know that I have no words for this.
Okay, just one thought:
The things I bet he could do with that mouth. Rar to the freakin' R, yo.
Review O' The Moment
"This I Promise You" -- The Video
.....
Okay, I haven't said a whole lot about this video so far, because everyone else seems to like it so darn much and I'm feeling guilty.
I might have missed something.
Here. Let me start at the beginning.
I love the couples theme, and I really liked how the couples weren't only romantic couples, and how there was an interracial couple in there as well. I thought it was beautiful and brilliant.
Ooohh... lookie, it's Justin walking through a forest. Justin looks good. Really good. Except for the scruff. He looks great above the scruff, and dang fine below the scruff, but I am not enjoying the scruff.
Why are there bubbles in the forest? What kind of forest has bubbles?
Justin was "feelin'" this song a little too much, I think. It used to be JC with the stupid hand gestures, but this time Justin took the cake. "... tears to your eyes..." -- nice illustration, J. And -- oh, no... no, you did not just do the piano fingers. ::Hides head in embarrassment:: I don't know you.
More couple stuff! Pretty.
Close-ups! Everybody is looking so damn good! Joey is hairy.
What the hell are Lance and Joey laughing about in the background? Care to join the others, fellas? And I'm sorry, but in slow motion that looked rather gay.
More bubbles. Am I the only one annoyed by this?
JC looks fabulous. Why does everyone seem to hate his pants? They are by far way down on the "JC fashion mishaps" list. Come ON; they're probably the most normal thing he's worn in months.
Couples... ::sighs:: And JC has not made a stupid gesture yet! I'm proud of him.
It's pretty cute when the guys are "catching" the bubbles in their hands, but I still think it reeks of gayness.
More close-ups!
By far the gayest, stupidest moment in this video is when JC's in the bubble, and he reaches up to "catch" it while it flies out of his reach. I cringe every time. Bad. BAD idea. BAD.
I think the café part is the best part of the video. For one thing, there are no more bubbles! And I like to see five faces full of prettiness concentrated around a small space like that.
They really are all freaking gorgeous. And the more brown in Lance's hair, the better.
Lance looks over in JC's direction with a half-smile and otherwise curiously unreadable expression on his face, and then ::quick cut:: JC is looking in his direction with one of his patented intense gazes. HMMMMMMM. Yes, it is edited to look that way; ever ask yourself why it is edited to look that way?
All in all, I wish that I could say I adore this video and watch it repeatedly. But I'd be lying. Every time I watch it I have to fight the urge to scream "GAY!" at the screen. I'm really sorry. I WANT to like it more than I do. The premise is stunning and the guys look excellent. But the bubbles in the forest and the slow-mo stuff is just.... don't do that, boys.
Whatever O' The Moment
Staci Richardson wrote me a while back to inform me thusly:
Well, see it's like this: I had to do a project for school were I had to find out peoples' birthdays, the music they listen to, and if they like a group who's their favorite member. Well everything was fine. 'Til I noticed that a lot of girls had the same birthday as me and you, the 7, October. Than I find most liked 'NSYNC, and finally I noticed they all picked Lance as their favorite member of 'NSYNC (he is also mine). Now tell me if that weird or not.
Well, Staci, it sure IS weird. There must be something about October 7th that grants us excellent taste in music and men. ;-)
