Yumi Komagata
Alias:
Oneesan (older sister, by Soujiro).
Looks:
Forgive me, but the first time I saw her, I thought
"one helluva b****", fooled by the
ever-in-danger-to-fall-down kimono, green lipstick
and purplish-dyed hair. Apart from the fact that I
still hate her hairstyle, I'd say that Yumi is the
type that guys like, very curvy and with a veil of
sexiness and self-assure that many women envy. She's
a show-off, and she knows it clearly. Her hazel eyes
can sometimes reflect the turmoil of feelings that
she has deep inside hidden.
Smarts:
Above average, and not naive at all. She possessed
knowledge in many areas like the techniques of some
JG's members, how to talk to persons (after all she
was an Oiran or expensive courtesan, which means
Yumi had to learn thoroughly how to treat nobility
and entretain them) and what lied in the depths of
the arena where Kenshin, Saitou and Sano fought half
the JG.
Personality:
Years of living in between powerful and corrupted
persons turned Yumi into a very sarcastic,
disenchanted and sometimes even bitter woman, with
an extremely sour POV. "This is a world of such
falseness, built up with lies and suffering",
she tells Cho once. What was left of tenderness and
faith in her heart, she puts it into Shishi-o, her
lover and protector, and Soujiro, her adopted
younger brother. Harsh and haughty towards the ones
she doesn't know, but as you pass through the shell,
you'll find a gentler soul.
Cooking
- Home Economics:
I dunno what could I say in this field. Possibly she
knows the basics but it appears Shishi-o has been
hiring out for this matter.
Fighting
skills:
Read this same point in Tomoe's MP. Yumi has little
combat training, if she ever has, but always hides
her own and faithful tanto between her robes to use
it if she needs it. And if she's given the chance,
she will undoubtedly defend herself; unlike the
pacifist Tomoe, Yumi even relishes in violence
against her enemies.
Special
abilities:
How the hell does she fit in that skimpy kimono?! *lol*
Faithful to Shishi-o to an obsessive point, some may
point out.
Competition:
Shishi-o Makoto. The villain of the Kyoto arc, yet
so wickedly intelligent and charismatic, that this
woman fell for him harder as she could. I wouldn't
reccomend trying to break them up, as the closest to
the crazy little thing called "love" that
Shishi-o could ever feel for someone, he feels it
for Yumi, in his own way. The only way to make
Shishi-o sama give up on Yumi would be telling him
that it would be for his profit and for the plan of
conquering Japan. It's that or fighting Shishi-o
himself.
In-Laws:
Nothing is known about Yumi's relatives. If we wanna
count the JG, the closer to a family may be Kamatari
and Soujiro. Kamatari would even help you as it
would make one less competition to win Shishio's
heart, and Soujiro may only say 'I've figured it yet
out' and sit there to check on you. But you never
know about the others...
Finances:
Mostly Yumi relies on what she takes or is given,
and far better it'd be to her if you have wealth
enough so you don't have to work.
Sex:
Yumi has grown up pleasing others as an Oiran and
principally AFTER it (remember, Geishas and Oiran
WEREN'T prostitutes), so it makes for a very
involved partner who surely knows how to melt even
the most frigid man and turn him into putty in her
hands. She's wonderfully sexy, and has proved to be
extremely dedicated to something she likes and
cares, so she'll go with whatever can bring you
happiness. If she could even do it with Shishi-o
(yup, Jitoh, the burn thing), Yumi is gonna blow up
your shyness in a single night.
Overall:
Yumi is a choice only for the ones who are sure to
be the Men of the World, as she's now affixed like a
leech to the man who made the whole Meiji government
tremble to its roots. If you're not sufficiently
wealthy or powerful to compete with Shishi-o Makoto,
tough luck.
