The Garlic Festival"Friends of Garlic"15th May 2003 The third weekend in August is a time when the unmistakable smell of garlic pervades the air. The centre of the town is taken over by our garlic market, the stalls laden with row upon row of delicious, garlic-based products. Such is the fame of our garlic festival that it has spread beyond the borders of our contry - not a few of the many tens of thousands of visitors it attracts come from abroad. The bounties offered by the festival are complemented by an accompanying programme of music and other culture. Organised by the "friends of Garlic", Valkosipulin ystävät - Allium Sativum ry.
