OrderTrust, the leading order-processing network, announced today that Jim Daniell, CEO,
has been elected vice-chairman of the Massachusetts Software Council by its Board of
Trustees. Jim's appointment was announced this morning at the Software Council's 1999
Annual Meeting held at the Newton Marriott Hotel. Daniell's election to vice-chairman is a
result of his demonstrated leadership and accomplishments in the software industry and his
dedication to the Council's growth during his tenure as a board member.

position of vice-chairman," said David Blohm, Council Chairman. "With his roots
in the Internet technology industry, Jim brings extensive knowledge to the executive
committee and is representative of the expertise and leadership thriving today in
Massachusetts' Internet technology companies."
As vice-chairman, Daniell will work with Council Chairman
David Blohm, president and CEO of SmarterKids.com, to guide the direction and growth of
the Council and serve as a Council spokesperson.

closely with David and the other executive committee members in guiding the Council into
the new millenium," said Daniell. "There has never been a more exciting time in

my experience and understanding of software, the Internet, and e-commerce in helping the
council continue its role as the leading organization of its kind."
As CEO, Daniell is responsible for all aspects of
OrderTrust's business and strategy. OrderTrust operates an order-processing network for
web-merchants like the Lycos Store, SkyMall, 1-800-FLOWERS and Catalog City. Prior to
joining OrderTrust in 1997, Daniell was COO of AT&T's Networked Commerce Services
where he held P&L responsibility for one of the largest business Internet groups in
the United States. Prior to AT&T, Daniell was a founding member and vice president at
Bridge Builder Technologies and held various executive positions at UNIX System
Laboratories. He gained his hands-on technology experience at Software AG of North
America, among other top software companies. Daniell received his Ph.D. in Electrical and
Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
