OrderTrust Offers Merchants Unparalleled Order Processing Services
LitleNet changes name to OrderTrust and
refines focus to offer one-stop order processing
Lowell, MA - March 23, 1998 - LitleNet,
the industry leading order processing network, today announced it has changed its name to
OrderTrust and will accelerate its focus on offering merchants unparalleled order
processing services. In this capacity, OrderTrust now offers merchants services that
include complex electronic order processing, fulfillment integration, fraud screening and
prevention, payment presentment, and loyalty and affiliation development. OrderTrust's
enhanced focus will further strengthen its position as the leading order processing
network. Today, OrderTrust processes an average of over 1.5 million transactional events
per day, with a value that exceeds over a billion dollars annually.
States Chris Stevens, senior research analyst for Aberdeen
Group, "There is a need in the industry for a technology company to sit atop the
demand chain, and OrderTrust is the only company I've seen doing it with a complete focus
on managing every aspect of the merchant order process."
"We want our new name to say it all and point the
company to a single focus," states Jim Daniell, CEO of the newly named company.
"OrderTrust has comprehensive experience in back-end order processing, and the trust
o merchants to out-task this key business component. We are simply the best one-stop
solution for companies who want superior order processing, and don't want to build their
own back-end network."
In addition to the name change, the company announced it
has been selected by 1-800-FLOWERS to provide order processing services for real-time
online credit card authorizations (see accompanying release.) This selection underscores
OrderTrust's ability to pull together multiple resources for the benefit of a wide variety
of direct and online merchants.
Stevens also notes that, "Merchants need to be able to
focus on aggressively marketing their brands and give someone else the technological
responsibilities. OrderTrust takes on that burden and eliminates operational risks by
providing fraud detection, complex order routing, secure payment processing, and complete
system redundancy. Most merchants just don't have the bandwidth and capabilities to do it
themselves."
The company targets Web and online merchants and malls,
commerce service providers, multi-channel product catalogers, telemarketers and
distributors. Major companies that currently out-task to the OrderTrust order processing
network include SignatureCard Inc.'s, Dining la Card and SkyMall, Inc.
Concludes Daniell, "When a merchant out-tasks to our
order processing network, we immediately alleviate the risks typically associated with
routing complex orders. We do the data translation, data formatting, end-to-end
connectivity, fraud detection, order status management, and loyalty programs that are all
part of a complete solution. Further, as the ESD clearinghouse model continues to mature,
OrderTrust will address evolving demand in that marketplace."
Under its new name, OrderTrust will continue to operate
from its Lowell, Massachusetts headquarters, and market its services through its
headquarters-based direct sales force to companies involved in non face-to-face selling
and marketing.
