ORDERTRUST
APPOINTS KEITH THOMPSON VICE PRESIDENT OF PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
LOWELL, Mass., September 10, 1999
OrderTrust, provider of
integrated order management services for e-commerce, announced today the
appointment of Keith Thompson to the position of vice president of
product development. In this position, Thompson will be responsible for
increasing the performance of OrderTrusts order management network
and adding new features and functionality to many of OrderTrusts
services. Prior to joining OrderTrust, Thompson was senior director of
architecture and integration at Shiva, Corp., where he held chief
architect responsibilities for the companys VPN and Remote Access.
"Keiths expertise in network
architecture and product development made him a natural choice for
us," said Jim Daniell, CEO of OrderTrust. "Because we offer
merchants a plug-and-play solution for order management that
eliminates all concerns over order routing and fulfillment, payment
processing and product delivery, we needed someone who understood the
complexity of the OrderTrust network and the challenges of
compatibility. Keith possesses the exact combination of development
and design experience that we were looking for and that will position
us well for the future."
At Shiva, Thompson was responsible
for managing engineering groups, architecting new products, and
providing technical expertise to the product management and business
development. He was also a critical team member responsible for the
companys successful acquisition by and integration with Intel Corp.
(NASDAQ: INTC). Following the acquisition, Thompson assumed a senior
management role with Intel.
"OrderTrusts order management
network has been designed for interoperability with a wide variety of
electronic commerce protocols and products, which puts the company in
a favorable position in todays growing Internet economy," said
Thompson. "The companys network provides the most
comprehensive, scalable outsourced order management solution available
on the market today. By offering merchants the ability to
easily connect to an e-commerce infrastructure that intelligently
manages information throughout the order lifecycle and providing
established connections to hundreds of suppliers, OrderTrust is taking
the worry out of the e-commerce back-end for companies selling online.
Its an exciting place to be."
Prior to working at Shiva, Thompson
served as a consulting engineer at AirSoft, Inc., a developer of
acceleration enhancements for remote access and VPN products that was
acquired by Shiva. Before joining AirSoft in 1996, Thompson owned his
own consulting practice that focused on product management and
implementation for networking technologies. Thompson graduated from
the University of Wisconsin, Madison with a Bachelor of Arts degree in
computer science.
