I'm an 18 yearold highschool graduate currently seeking a profession in the field of graphics. I'm a self taught user of Lightwave 3D, a powerful and affordable product designed by Newtek. I've used Lightwave for three and a half years, with the assistance of online tutorials posted by other Lightwave users and a book which I had purchased during my 2nd year ("Inside Lightwave3D" by Dan Ablan, Published by New Riders) of learning, I went through the 717 page book in a weeks time. My first year of Lightwave would be considered by others as "hell", constant ours late at night searching for tutorials. Seventy percent of the tutorials I had found during this period were of no use to me, they were too advanced. I was also fortunate to have received help from a very advanced Lightwave user. He was overwhelmingly helpful to my constant annoying questions, without his help, I would have been the first in my family to lose hair during the age of fifteen. I would post his name up inorder to credit him for his tremendous help, but as years went on, contact was cut along with the memory of his on-line alias. As years continued by, the drive to become better increased. As I watched movies and tv shows which utilized the Lightwave software, I was determined to become just as good, maybe ever better. As time went by, this drive began to decrease, and at one point, ceased. Lightwave also utilizes plug-ins to ease the creation of certain effects. For example, creating hair or fur without the proper plug-in, would mean months of work just to cover the character or object. With the plug-in known as Fiber Factory, this process is dramatically faster. With this plug-in, Lightwave users can create a variety of realistic hair/fur with just a few clicks of the mouse. There are a variety of other powerful and useful plug-ins out there, and they don't come cheap. Someone plug-ins range from $50 to more than $300. A user of my age, cannot afford these powerful tools, therefore, my ability to master the software was severely limited. Now present, currently putting together this site, I am posting up some of my best work in hopes of getting noticed and hired to do what I had always loved to do, Computer Generated Images. To do CGI, requires more than just a wanting, it requires a loving of the field and a sacraficing of pain staking years to become a true 3D animator. Thank you for visiting my site, please enjoy the galleries I have set up for view and critique. If you have any questions about myself or my work, please feel free to e-mail me, once again thank you.
