This is, i'm told, an old Brazilian capoeira as sung and danced by the black slaves in the 18th century Brazil. Their white European owners initially forbid them the capoeria, but by adding Roman-Catholic elements into the melody and the words they were allowed , usually on holidays, to sing and dance. It goes without say that on such occasions the slaves honored their rituals and beliefs alongside the Catholic churchs' beliefs.

Making this website was quite a challenge. I used FrontPage-Express and a small program to make the imagemaps (MapEdit). Most graphics are from other sites on the internet, some however were made by myself using two easy-to-use applications: Windows Paint and Micrografx Draw. Soon I will be introducing JavaScript on these pages as well as StyleSheets. Since I don't have "Dreamweaver" or a similar DHTML-editor I must write all the code myself. This takes up a lot of my time and, believe me, gets me a little frustrated sometimes! To get to know my neighbours in this "City of Fortune" regular on-line sessions will be common.
