1968 Version

The 1968 version is the best known movie of Romeo and Juliet as Shakespeare wrote it. It was directed by Franco Zeffireli. It starred Leonard Whiting as Romeo and Olivia Hussey as Juliet. Leonard was only 17 and Olivia was only 15 when the movie was filmed. The movie was filmed in Italy in the towns of Tuscania, Pienza, and Gubbio. They are all midieval towns. It was in theaters and a big success. It is 152 minutes long. I thought the video was good.
