Who is Corrynod?

So who is Corrynod and, em, could I please explain what a corrynod is?  Its quite simple really and I've left clues all over the place.  Corrynod is a Welsh word and means spider.

I rather like spiders, large and small.  There is little else in nature as beautiful as a spider web, glistening with dew in the early morning light.  I only hope that I can create something a quarter as beautiful.  I am also inspired by that original web weaver, the nymph Arachne.

Arachne, in Greek mythology, was so skilled in the art of weaving that she dared to challenge the goddess Athena, a patron of the arts and crafts, to a competition. While Athena wove a tapestry showing the gods and goddesses in all their glory and nobility, Arachne wove one illustrating their love affairs and little peccadilloes. Furious over the perfection of the girl's work, Athena tore it to shreds, and Arachne hanged herself in grief. Out of pity, however, Athena loosened the rope, turned it into a cobweb, and transformed Arachne into a spider.  Hence the name for spiders, arachnids, in Arachne's honour.

In a nutshell, I'm 30-something, married and living in wales, UK.  I've been on-line for nearly two years and a web weaver for six months.  PaintShop Pro 5 is the best thing since sliced bread!  I played around with a trial copy from a magazine cover disc and then I just had to buy my own copy.  It's reasonably priced, easy to use and has some great features.  If you've never tried it, then click on the link button on the front page and download a free trial copy.

I hope that you like my graphic and if you use them, please do tell me.  I'd like to see what they look like and I'm hoping to have a "friends of corrynod" page soon.

I have another graphics sets in Geocities, called DuGwyn Designs.  This is a site of graphics that are in two colours only: black and white.  So, if you would prefer to use less colourfull graphics on your website, head over there.  It is a new site, so there are not as many sets there as there are here.  Just yet!
