Anniversary

How come whenever I look at you,
All my dreams seem to have come true?
Perhaps it's the thought of the children we've borne.
Perhaps it's your snuggle in the early morn.
You are my lifemate, my love, my friend.

This marriage we have will never end.
Hoping like hell you believe in our love,
I pray to whomever's in charge above,
Requesting a long life at your side
To share the pain yet enjoy the ride.
Each day I awake in your strong arms.
Each night I return to enjoy your charms.
Never before have I felt so complete
Than the day we wed with a love so sweet.
Have you ever wondered where this would end?

Are you positive you want to be my friend
Now and forever, until our last breath,
Never leaving each other, not even in death?
I know I'm not easy to live with, Sweetheart.
Visions of battles of wills, minds and heart
Enter my head as I dwell on the past,
Ready to forgive and forget mistakes fast.
Say you will love me forever and a day,
And your wishes are mine, come what may.
Realizing now the great gift I've received,
You'll never know how badly I grieved

Bringing tears to my eyes and sadness, too
About how badly at times I've treated you.
Babe, I love you, you make me whole.
Each day with you touches my soul.

Donald Tschudy,
