Blackened Embers, Charred Remains

When I am gone from this world,
The things I want remembered most
Are all the loving things I've done.
Things thought of once I am a ghost.

Kissed hurts and sung lullabies,
help with homework, freedom to speak.
While I am haunting, silently watching,
remember my smile. Do not be weak.

Hugs goodnight and kisses good-bye,
A sincere "I Love You" to start the day.
Cherish every moment we've had -
Remembrance is the only way.

The unconditional love I gave
To everyone in my life.
The way I tried to please and appease
The whole time I was your wife.

The future is sometimes uncertain,
Life strained and somehow an amazing feat.
I tried in every way I knew
To make your lives so full and complete.

So when I am gone from this place
Wings soaring high and free from chains.
Remember my love, for I shall be more than
Blackened embers and charred remains.
