I Wanted Peace
God, it's quiet.
Peaceful, too.
I sit here,
Missing you.
I wanted peace.
Instead I found
I hear the worms
Crawling around.
I feel the world
Spinning around.
It makes me dizzy
Without a sound.
The bright moon
Makes noise so loud,
You'd think I was
Amongst a crowd.
This house moans.
Did you know?
It creaks with age,
Lights all aglow.
The kids don't speak,
They only shout!
I try to hush them,
Then they pout.
Every passing car
On our street
Needs a muffler.
Heart skips a beat,
Missing you.
I wanted peace.
Now I want
This noise to cease!
