Knight

He can be heard crossing the countryside
Riding on his trusty steed.
He rescues damsels in distress and anyone who is in need.

His heart is true, his shoulders strong. He has wiped many a tear.
On enemy he draws his mighty sword.
For friend he lends an ear.

Though almost always unseen now,
When needed he can be found.
It seems he's overwhelmed at times, but to friendship and love he's bound.

He is the one all turn to when wisdom and guidance are sought.
He is the one they count on
for many a battle he's fought.

He is ever faithful, he is the Knight.
His power and strength are seen To all who watch him in awe. They've never watched him lean.

One thing must be remembered, however, no matter what gift he gives.

The Knight is human after all.
The need, although invisible, lives.

So when next you see him ride in
On the sunset, sword in hand.
Remember, no one is invincible. Not even a Knight in his own land.

For in order for him to carry on, before next weary battle he must go,
Give back to him what he has given,
So that his strength may always grow.
