Something

Have I done something to make you disappear from my life?
Did I create some sort of chaos with which you need to deal?
Have I caused you recently some sort of pain or strife?
Did I say something awful that has, hurt, made you feel?

I wrack my brain for clues yet none come to mind
Except this love I feel that is so totally true.
And for all my soul-searching I truly cannot find
Whatever possibly I could have done to you.

Knowing you, you'll simply tell me when you can,
Even though it pains you to ever have to say
That I caused you no pain, but my feelings I need to fan
As you simply turn around and go walking away.

I'm prepared for whatever path you choose to take
For your happiness is my ultimate and only goal.
And although putting feelings away causes heartache,
I'd rather be broken while you, my Love, are whole.

Know that my thoughts are with you tonight
While you do whatever it is you need
To make your world complete, perfect and right
As I sit here missing you with such great greed.

I'm doing some thinking on my own right now
But probably not about what I should.
I'm thinking instead about lovingly how
I could maybe help if, allowing me, you would.

Have I done something to make you disappear from my life?
Did I create some sort of chaos with which you need to deal?
Have I caused you recently some sort of pain or strife?
Did I say something awful that has, hurt, made you feel?
