Sunrise
She watches the sun rise slowly
and remembers what will be.
Today he comes to visit and perhaps she'll be set free
To live out her fantasies and dreams
So far away it really seems
The sun rises golden, streaks of red in a bright blue sky.
As she thinks about what he'll be like,
you hear her sigh.
Her friend of what seems like forever.
Parting of hearts will happen never.
The love of her life is nervous about this visit to her.
Truth be known it'll all pass in a very fast blur.
But to have her friend so near
Makes her think so clear
Friendship is few and far between the days she has to live
And she knows to him she's given all she has to give.
But one gift would be so fine
And she could call it "mine".
So she watches the sunshine rise high above her head
And she wonders what anyone
could possibly have to dread
About this much needed meeting
And soon she will be greeting
A heart and soul she feels she's always and forever known.
Although she belongs to another,
a piece of her heart he owns.
