Sweet Child of Mine
Sweet Child of Mine, I know how it feels
To be burdened with Your affliction.
My mind wanders more than you know.
I have many an addiction.
I know how to cause peace,
And I know when I cause friction.
It takes time, My Child, to learn
How to control these things on your own.
All I can say is watch what I do
And perhaps someday I'll have shown
You exactly how I get it under control.
Probably not until You are grown.
For now, My Child, your life seems a mess
And nothing seems to go your way.
It's hard to go on and on in life
When you're in trouble every single day.
You need to learn to bounce back
No matter what happens, come what may.
I know, My Child, it's hard to go on
Each day knowing the fence
People face when they face You.
They don't always use common sense,
And they always blame You for all,
Which causes You to become tense.
Sweet Child of Mine, please remember
That no matter what trouble you bring,
Your life matters most to me, your Mother,
From birth, You've made my heart sing.
Sweet Child of Mine, know in your heart,
I Love You. You need not change a thing.
